The Weinstein Company has been rather quiet regarding the film adaption of Paulo Coelho’s treasure-seeking novel, The Alchemist, film adaption. Until Now.
It is reported that David Siegel and Scott McGehee are in charge of adapting Coelho’s novel into screenplay form.
Plot Synopsis: The story revolves around Santiago, an Andalusian sheperd boy who wishes to travel in search of an extravagant worldly treasure unlike any other. He journeys to the markets of Tangiers and across the deserts of Egypt and has an encounter with the alchemist. The treasures that Santiago finds along his way teaches us about listening to our hearts, understanding how to read omens that life puts in our path, and most importantly, following our dreams.
