A writer has now found to draw up the script.

“Tropic Thunder” scribe Etan Cohen has been selected to pen “Men in Black 3″.  At this point no deals have been made with the franchise’s stars Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith but it is highly unlikey that Colombia would greenlight a third installment without the involvement of those two

They are currently at a point where they are ready to do a BLAIR WITCH 3.  They will also share the writing and directing.  It will pick up where the original left off.  (They will be pretending as if Blair Witch 2 never existed).  To find inspiration the two co-directors spent a half hour driving through their original Blair Witch haunts.

It is reported that David Siegel and Scott McGehee are in charge of adapting Coelho’s novel into screenplay form.

Plot Synopsis: The story revolves around Santiago, an Andalusian sheperd boy who wishes to travel in search of an extravagant worldly treasure unlike any other.  He journeys to the markets of Tangiers and across the deserts of Egypt and has an encounter with the alchemist.  The treasures that Santiago finds along his way teaches us about listening to our hearts, understanding how to read omens that life puts in our path, and most importantly, following our dreams.

With that being said, J.J. is still going to be executive producer. He has to pass on being behind the camera. Without revealing story details Abrams did admit that what is in store is “damn cool”.

So, Abrams is still on board as an executive producer, having developed this next installment alongside screenwriters Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec, but he’s having to pass on returning behind the camera. While not wanting to give any story details away the director did express confidence to the website that the story was “damn cool.”

“I don’t want to give anything away yet, but I will say that it’s a story that will feel consistent with the world that has been created,” he explained. “It’s not a reboot kind of thing.”

We do know that Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec have created the screenplay and the whole aspect of creating another sequel came to be because Cruise wanted to work with Abrams again.

“Tom asked if I’d be interested in working with him again,” Abrams said. “I didn’t have a sense of what the story would be, but very quickly this idea came to mind, and Tom reacted to it in a way that got me excited, and then we got André and Josh to come onboard, and they began developing the idea with us.”

Abrams believes that Applebaum and Nemec are adept to a genre and putting together insane situations for great characters.  Both Abrams and Cruise did not want to collaborate on something that did not feel a worthy follow up to the first three films in the “Mission” franchise.

His role is that of Odin, the father of Thor and Loki. Chris Hemsworth stars as Thor and Tom Hiddleston will be playing Loki.

Jane Foster, Thor’s love interest, will be played by Natalie Portman.

Mark Protosevich and Zack Stentz have hemled the script.

Paramount Pictures will release the film on May 20, 2011.

Sir Anthony Hopkins can also been seen starring alongside Benicia Del Toro in Joe Johnston’s re-imagining of “The Wolfman”, which is being released by Universal Studios next February.

Dern has been cast as the headmistress of the school where the Fockers kids attend.

Paul Weitz is directing this Universal film based on a screenplay doctored up by Larry Stuckey and John Hamburg.

“It’s a brand new box of tricks,” said Sir Ridley. “We know what the road map is, and the screenplay is now being put on paper. The prequel will be a while ago. It’s very difficult to put a year on Alien, but [for example] if Alien was towards the end of this century, then the prequel story will take place thirty years prior.”

It was originally reported that Carl Rinsch was to direct this new ALIEN film but it seems that Ridley himself will be directing it himself (as reported by Variety)

Plot Concept: The film is the continuation of writer & director Troy Duffy’s tough, stylized cutting edge saga of fraternal twins, the MacManus brothers (Norman Reedus, Sean Patrick Flanery). The two have been in deep hiding in the quiet valleys of Ireland, far removed from their former lives or modern technologies. When word comes that a priest has been killed by sinister forces in the tough underworld of Boston, they return to mount a violent and bloody crusade to bring justice to those who must now suffer the consequences, with a new partner in crime (Clifton Collins) and a sexy FBI operative (Julie Benz) hot on their trail.

It would make sense considering the film has put a bit more emphasis on Dylan Baker’s Dr. Connors character over the course of the series. However, when has Hollywood ever made sense.

Market saw has given no indication as to where this exclusive information has come from so take all of this with a grain of salt for now.

Ferrell’s role in the film is that of an estranged husband locked out of his house by his wife. She tosses all of his belongings onto the front lawn and he sells everything in four days.

Production on the film is slated to begin in March.
